This two-part French notary or lawyer filing cabinet is made from solid oak, brass, and metal. It comprises handles and tag holders, and is signed E. Chouanrad, Paris, as well as being stamped on each back of the drawers. Each drawer folds down and when opened completely can be taken off of the cabinet for easy access to files. They can also be dropped on the two sliding shelves. Two keys lock the left or right row of drawers with original system. The unit was produced circa 1900 and features an interior drawer measurement of width 30 cm( 11.8 inches), depth 31 cm ( 12.2 inches), and height 8 cm (3.15 inches).
