This vintage teak sideboard with a clear wood grain was designed and produced in Denmark during the 1960s. The practical piece comprises two cabinets on both sides and large drawers in the middle. The shelves in the cabinets can be lowered and raised and the piece is characterized by its simplistic design with tight lines and rounded corners.Teak originally came from southeast Asia and is now widely planted in the tropics, resulting in many differences in color and weight. The wood is resistant to weather and wind and requires little maintenance, as well as allowing craftsman to finish the material very smoothly; a reason for its prolonged use in Danish design.
